Pecha Kucha

Keeping the same teams we had last week, we now have to make a Pecha Kucha Presentation on the Composer Hans Zimmer.

So what is a Pecha Kucha? It’s a presentation consisting of 20 slides that are 20 seconds long, first created by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham and made so architects would stop having super long presentations. Basically the purpose of a Pecha Kucha is to give a short presentation filled with information that cuts out the filler, so it should impact and inform the audience.

Our’s is on Hans Zimmer and we have no real outline for what we need to include, it just need to be informative, so how our team has broken it down is his influences, the beginning of his career, his most famous/popular work, and what he is going to do next.

I was given to research his beginning of his music career so i got to look into all the bands he used to work with and how he helped pioneer the use of synthesizers and how he eventually broke into Hollywood. As a team we each wrote out a brief of what we were going to talk about and explained it to each other and then just loads of practising.

I feel that it went really well, everyone knew their slides really well and we kept a good flow. I was quite nervous about speaking in front of everyone I had written out notes but I had sorta memorised it enough that they were really just a safety net and it was quite a relief it going to well.
